  The main ingredient used in making the raw material comes from the bark of particulars trees, which grows in forests regions of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil nadu, Orissa, Gujarat, Assam and Himachal Pradesh.

The bark is ground fine and an age old formula is used to make the final product called the Jigat powder for which there is an ever growing demand in the market, the final product is then mixed with finely ground coconut shell charcoal powder which is completely odorless but has great amount of elasticity. The industry also manufactures several other raw materials approximately about twenty products, which again is used in the manufacturing of agarbathis and to name a few are nurva powder, white dust powder, coconut shell dust powder, saw dust powder and the earlier mentioned coconut shell charcoal powder are a few of these raw materials that from the very base from which agarbathies are manufactured.
